2008 fatal motorcycle crashes in California found that 36% of all motorcycle operators involved in fatal crashes were not properly licensed. When looking at operators under age 25, 60% were not properly licensed (up from 42% in 2000). Motorcycle fatalities have increased 103% from 276 in 2000 to 560 in 2008.
